Stahlwerk MIG MAG 200 Double Pulse Mig Pro Synergic Welder  Part number 1221
The powerful STAHLWERK MIG MAG 200 Double Pulse Mig Pro shielded arc welder has a convenient pulse as well as double pulse function and works with up to 200 amps. The special double pulse function enables clean, precise welding of thin sheets. The double pulse function is particularly useful when processing aluminum, as the welding current is controlled in optimum synchronization with the wire feed and the oxide layer is broken up cleanly. The finely regulated control of the temperature produces an optimum penetration for the formation of a defect-free weld seam without pores. Another advantage of the robust 17.25 kg combination welder is that it can also be used for E-Hand/MMA welding.
Functions of the Stahlwerk MIG MAG 200 Double Pulse Mig Pro Synergic Welder
- Extensive double pulse function in MIG welding prevents burning through materials at low root heights and reduces deformation due to heat. Therefore, the MIG 200 double pulse Pro welder is especially suitable for welding thin plates and materials that may be heated only slightly.
- The MIG 200 Double Pulse Pro operates on the basis of an advanced IGBT module with the latest inverter and control technology.
- The MIG 200 double pulse Pro welding machine can process and weld non-, low- and high-alloy steels such as steel, stainless steel and aluminum alloys.
- Thanks to the pulse function and advanced torch ergonomics, welding can be performed in all known joint shapes (butt welds and fillet welds) and positions (standing seam, drop seam, transverse seam).
- Convenient selection of twin, spot and continuous spot operating modes as well as other special welding functions.
- The welding unit is suitable for use with solid welding wire (steel, stainless steel; ø 0.8 – 1.0 mm and aluminum; ø 1.0 – 1.2 mm) and flux-cored wire. Thus, a wide variety of materials can be processed and welded.
Features & Advantages of the Stahlwerk MIG MAG 200 Double Pulse Mig Pro Synergic Welder
- Universally applicable 3 in 1 combination unit. MIG, MAG and MMA welding is possible up to 200 amps.
- Built-in safety function to reduce the voltage (Volt Reduction Device – VRD). To increase safety during welding, the open circuit voltage U0 is reduced to 14 volts in MMA mode. The welder automatically detects the start of the welding process and then increases the open circuit voltage up to 62 volts. VRD is factory preset and cannot be turned off.
- Built-in job memory allows preferences and parameters to be set to complete recurring jobs efficiently and quickly. Jobs and parameters can be restored. This enables convenient work without spending a lot of time on set-up times.
- 2T/4T (MIG) mode allows control of the operating mode and provides advanced control over current flow in Special 2 and Special 4 cycle modes.
- Automatic wire feed for precise regulation of wire feed speed in direct relation to the set welding current.
- Extensive setting options in terms of current and functions via intuitive graphic interface in the display.
- Highest Efficiency & Power – Single-phase AC power (230 V) supplies the unit and allows output power of true 200 amps.
- Smart Cooling & Overheat Protection – State-of-the-art technology, built-in overheat protection, and high-performance cooling allow for maximum power retrieval during welding.
- Suitable for use with the following shielding gases: 100% Ar, 100%CO2, 2%CO2 +Â 98% Ar, 20%CO2Â +Â 80% Ar. This ensures efficiency, energy saving as well as strong arc penetration with low welding deformations.
- The spool mandrel ensures frictionless acceptance of 50 mm wire spools and is not suitable for 1 Kg wire spools with 16 mm spool mandrel acceptance.

What’s the Difference Between MIG and MAG Welding?
Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding are gas metal arc welding (GMAW) processes that use heat created from a DC electric arc between a consumable metal electrode and a workpiece which melt together to create a weld pool that fuses to form a join.
Only inert gases or gas mixtures are used for the shielding gas when MIG welding. Typical inert gases used for MIG welding are argon and helium. These gases are usually used for MIG welding of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.
MAG stands for Metal Active Gas.
Active gas mixtures have been developed primarily for welding steels. Typical shielding gases are mixtures of argon, carbon dioxide and oxygen e.g. CO2Â , Ar + 2 to 5% O2Â , Ar + 5 to 25% CO2Â and Ar + 10% CO2Â + 5% OÂ 2Â .
The composition of the shielding gas has a substantial effect on the stability of the arc, metal transfer and the amount of spatter. The shielding gas also affects the behaviour of the weld pool, particularly its penetration and the mechanical properties of the welded joint.
In the US, both MIG and MAG welding are described by the term GMAW ( Gas Metal Arc Welding).
